The Rehabilitation of the 30″ watermain from Forest Little Golf Club to Lissenhall Balheary has been given the go ahead by Irish Water, the drawings are going out to tender this year and it is expected a contractor will be appointed and that the work can start early 2016. it is anticipated acording to a Council Engineer that work can be completed sometime in 2017.
This work will be completed in 5 stages and it is expected to have a robust traffic management plan in place for the duration of the project.
The work will cause a lot of disruption to businesses from the Forest Road through Main Street and out to Balheary football pitches, a couple of football pitches will also be affected as they will be dug up to facilitate the installation of the water main.
