From North County Leader:
Local community activist, Joe Newman has made an appeal to the County Council to undertake refurbishment works ata playground at Rathingle, Swords, which also serves part of Ridgewood and to consider providing more playgrounds in the area.
Newman, who is a candidate in the upcoming local elections told the County Leader, “I was contacted by a lady living in Forest Boulevard, here in Swords, and she mentioned the issue of the playground here. She has a couple of young children and she claims that the playground is falling into disrepair, and nobody seems to care. She is concerned, as it’s a great facility to have and she wants it put back to it’s former glory and I’m appealing to the local authority to come down and do something about it. While I have been out campaigning, people around the area here in Rivervalley have also asked for more playgrounds for their young children. I am calling on the council to survey the area and review the playground needs in the Rivervalley area,” he concluded.
