The special works program for 2017 was announced at the local area meeting in February,the allocation of €2,503,000 was welcomed, it was agreed by all Councillor’s to be a fair distribution of available resources.
I was particularly happy that a number of projects that I have been pursuing were included in the works program, such as the footpath and wheelchair ramp at Bridge Street and Swords Main Street, the Footpaths at Montgorry and the Forest Road total € 35 k as well as a section of the main road through River Valley ( tarmacadam overlay)€70 k.( this is the first phase of necessary upgrade work)
Other allocations welcomed was public lighting Nth Street and Seatown West €20k, ramps at Castleview €35k
Open space allocation for Seatown Road and Pinnock Hill roundabout €9k,
Rathingle Road flashing school crossing sign.€6k
Rathbeale Road and Bridge Street in conjunction with Swords Tidy Towns €10k
