The work has started on removing the old buildings to the east of Swords Castle, this work will allow the contractors and the archaeologist carry out investigations and necessary repairs to the old wall of the Castle. I am delighted to see the progress on this building as It was one of the issues that I encountered while canvassing for the 2014 local elections.
After my election to the Council in 2014 I met with the Chief Executive Mr Paul Reid and impressed on him the concerns of Swords residents about the bad state of the Castle and the closed shops along Main Street,
The Chief Executive agreed that work needed to be done on the Castle and Main Street, I am delighted with his commitment and the speedy pace that the work is progressing.
The improvements to the castle and Main Street will be a great asset to the village of Swords.
